FLAC stands for Free Lossless Audio Codec. It is an audio format similar to MP3, but lossless. It means that audio is compressed in FLAC without any loss in quality. This is similar to Zip files. With FLAC you will get much better compression because it is designed specifically for audio. You can also play back compressed FLAC files in your favorite player.
How to convert .flac files to .mp3 files
We will help to convert these compressed FLAC files to .mp3 so that you can play in your ordinary CD ROM’s.
First make sure you have downloaded and installed the following
1) A latest version of Winamp.
2) The Flac with library support plug-in for Winamp.
3)TuiTunes.
We hope all above are free.
Now follow these steps to start converting:
1) Open Winamp and select Options and then Preferences
( note: if you’re using the “classic version” skin, open the Winamp Preferences by clicking the Control and p keys on your keyboard)
2) Select Output from the Plug-ins section of the left window, and then select Nullsoft Disk Writer. Click Configure.
3) Navigate to the folder you want to save the .wav files in. We recommend you to save them in the same folder as the .flac files.
4) Click OK to return to the Preferences window, and then Close to return to Winamp.
5) Select File -> Play file and navigate to the folder with your .flac files. Select all of the .flac files by single-clicking the first file, holding down the Shift key on your keyboard, and then single-clicking the last file. When all of the files are selected, click Open.
We hope you are done.
